Each year after the Walk Now for Autism event, our team selects a restaurant to dine at afterwards. This year we decided on the Yard House.
Yard house is located at Atlantic Station. It sits on the corner just between the Regal Cinema movie theater and Publix shopping center. For those familiar to the city, the venue was once home to Tin Pin, an upscale bowling alley that offered a unique bowling experience.
The venue is considerably spacious. High top tables, booths, outdoor patio and private dining rooms are suitable for any size party. The bar area and flat screens placed throughout the restaurant make great for all sports fan. Yard House often accommodates very large crowds during football season.
The decor is very upscale and modern with a unique ceiling pattern. The fine wooden chairs and tables in the main dining area offer a welcomed southern comfort. On this particular Sunday, there wasn’t a large crowd or a long wait. Our party arrived just shortly after the restaurant opened, so there was plenty of seating and speedy accommodations were made for our party of 17. Yard House offers very limited reservations.
Yard offers American favorites, chicken tenders, turkey burgers, personal pan pizzas and fish and chips. A tasty appetizer selection would be the lobster and crawfish dip if you have a hankering for seafood. It was delicious and is also offered as a entrée.
The staff at Yard House was very hospitable and professional but the wait for the appetizers and main dinners were oddly longer than expected. Still the delicious meals and comfortable atmosphere made for a great dining experience.
Yard House was good. The unexpected wait put a damper on an already wet weekend. I could see myself revisiting when speedier service is needed like during football season.
